The trouble with Chrysler: the background
In 1996 when Chrysler opened its $1.1bn headquarters in Auburn Hills, 30 miles north of Detroit, executives joked that if things didn’t work out, they could always sell it as a shopping mall. Following DaimlerChrysler’s annual press conference on 14 February, local realtors are, no doubt, sneaking in to take measurements. Chrysler Group announced a staggering operating loss of $1.5 billion for 2006, and in the subsequent question time, DaimlerChrysler’s CEO Dieter Zetsche said the company ‘will examine far-reaching strategic options with partners’.
This is the Morgan Eva GT, a brand new sports car that the Malvern-based manufacturer will start building in 2012. Unveiled at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Eva GT is built around a variation of the aluminium chassis used in the Aero Supersports and is powered by a twin-turbo BMW straight six. RANGE ROVERS are a clear favourite among Premiership footballers, according to a firm specialising in high-value car finance. Oracle Finance has revealed that 28 Range Rovers and 24 Range Rover Sports on its books feature a footballer as the registered keeper, making the British band's motors by far the most popular. The second most popular individual model is the Bentley Continental GT, with 26 ongoing purchases funded by Oracle, but that only totals half the combined number of Range Rovers in the survey.
